As I Walk Through "The Shadows of Death"...

"Shadows Of Death" performed by Mercilezz ft. P.Dot from James Young on Vimeo.

This Song Comes From THE LAST SUPPER: LEFTOVERS. I Had to This Pull This One Out the Archives. Its A Very Special Song I Hold Dearly. I Still Remember Playing the Beat (produced by RJD2) In My Room And My Brother P. Dot Hall Came Out Singing! It Was All Freestyle Too Which Was More Amazing. We Quickly Got At the Track And Started Writing. The Song Itself Is Very Inspiring And Help Me Get Over Many Obstacles. I Also Had Alotta People Telling Me How They Didn't Expect Me to Make A Song Like This. I Like to Be Different...I Like to Be Outlandish With My Music. Each Verse I Tried Making It Meaningful. The Chorus Alone Sets the Tone...the Live Drums...the Emotions Throughout the Beat...My Friend James Young Once Again Came Through For the Video. He Decided to Make It Green Scene to Bring Out the Effects. If You Look Closely...You See Hidden Messages...The Video Was Just the Beginning...

MeRCY Meets Mobb Deep

During 1994...1995...I Was Really Onto the Hip Hop World Which Others Call It the Golden Era. I Felt During That Time the Music Was Timeless And Effortless. The Beats Were Soulful And the Lyrics Were Incredible. Classics From Nas "Illmatic" - Notorious B.I.G. "Ready to Die" - Raekwon "Only Built For Cuban Linx" - Outkast "Southernplayerlistic" - UGK "Riding Dirty" - A Tribe Called Quest "The Low End Theory" to the Album That Really Made Me Wanna Rap Mobb Deep "The Infamous". I Was In Middle School And I Would Have the CD Playing Heavy In My Walkmen. The Group Really Captured Me Musically Beyond There Thug Content. Each Song Had A Story Or A Situation I Could Relate To. I Can Remember Seeing There Music Video "Shook Ones" (hip hop classic!) And Hearing Prodigy's line..."I'm Only 19 But My Mind Is Old..." Instantly Caught Me. It Literally Got Me Stuck Off the Realness. Recalling Days I Would Mimic Prodigy Verses And Spitting Them Like They're Mines. Eventually, I Grew Outta It And Molded As A Lyricist. Mobb Deep Really Paved the Way And Helped Spark My Rapping Career Besides NAS...But Thats Another Story...THE INFAMOUS Album Was the Soundtrack to My Life Next to the IT WAS WRITTEN Album.

The Last Supper: Leftovers...My 1st Mixtape

This Is My Baby Right Here! This Is My First Ever Made Solo Mixtape From 2007 But Was Near A 2 Year Process (sheeesh). Hard Work Pays Off. I Was Too Busy Executive Producing My Fellow Artists Projects. THE LAST SUPPER Project Represented So Many Aspects of Me During That Time frame. I Even Had Songs From High School I Written And Wanted to Put It to Use. I Tried to Capture A Feeling As Well As Musical Inspiration For Me. The Production Was Soulful And Meaningful Altogether. Just Imagine Having Beats by 9th Wonder, Havoc, MF Doom, Alchemist, RJD2 And Madlib. Then Original Beats by GL Beats, Clymax, Geist, Fresh Airez, Sha Reef, JQ, And Even Myself (No Mercy Muzik)! I Managed to Get All the Talented Artists I Wanted to Work With. I Got Christyle, Bishop, Kidd Hazzard, And Some New Faces Swean P, P Dot, Clymax. I Really Kept In the Family. It Was A Crazy Musical Gathering. I Treated the Mixtape Like A Real Album Based On the Songs Content And Keeping It Original Much As Possible. The Concepts of the Songs Was All Metaphors From the Epic Tale of the Last Supper And How I View It. The First Single Was "Super" featuring My Cousin Kidd Hazzard. Then the Follow Up Single Was "No Mercy" And the Final Video Blow With "Shadows of Death" featuring My Young Brother P. Dot Hall Which Definitely Took Me to Another Level! I Had Originally Made It THE LAST SUPPER But I Felt I Had Better Songs to Include. So I Decided to Put On Leftover Songs For the Final Release Which I Renamed It THE LAST SUPPER: LEFTOVERS.
