BlackSpades Is Spade Deck...Spade Deck Is BlackSpades

I First Started Rapping In 1999 But Took It Serious In 2005. My Sister Christyle And I Would Be Rapping Together As A Group Called BlackSpades. Not to Be Confused With the Gang In New York. We Would Roll Mega Deep With Our Peoples From Middle School And Just Got Bigger As the Years Went By. My Cousin Clymax Would Join On A Few Songs. We Was Working Hard But Didn't Really Take It Seriously. My Brother Gutta Man Wanted Me And Christyle to Be A Duo. However, When I Was In High School And Wu-Tang Was Really A Collective Force - I Joined A New Rank of MCs. Shortly, Things Fall Apart Due to Creative Differences And Untrustworthy Members. I Decided to Go Solo But When I Went to College - I Met Another Profound MC Named Bishop. We Would Make Our Premature Freestyles After School On the Computer. Meanwhile, My Cousin Kidd Hazzard aka KoJazz Was Upcoming And I Always Admire His Ambition Musically. Just Being Around So Much Different And Highly Talented People - I Wanted to Make A Group Called Spade Deck Out of Me, Bishop, Christyle And KoJazz. The Chemistry We Shared Was Incredible In the Studio. Since KoJazz Lived In NY - It Would Be Hard Making Songs Together Collectively. We Managed to Drop A Few Memorable Mixtapes Wit the EXTRAVAGANGSTA Series. I Tried to Setup My Own Legion of Talented People And Keep It In the Family. Keep It In the Shuffle Based On Our Hustle. I Had My Cousin Geist Hux And Clymax Provide the Beats - Simon Sayz, Illegal, Swean P, Dwayne Sovereign, Craz-E, Cyco, Bigg Keen, K-Illa And Newcomers Soon Follow. Some Members Disband Or Been Removed. However, Maintaining A Collective Group of People And Different Personalities Can Cause Conflict At Times. BlackSpades Is the Brand And Spade Deck Is the Forefront of the Musicians - We All Share the Same Goals But Different Ideals On Approaching It. It Would Be My Dream Having My Own Music Company...Hopefully, One Day It'll Come True...

1st Single Off "The Last Supper: Leftovers"

No Mercy (People Dead) from James Young on Vimeo.

This Song Was Recorded Literally When I Was Done Recording For THE LAST SUPPER. My Nephew JQ Had Called Me Out the Blew And Played the Beat Over the Phone. I Was Blown Away From the Crazy Sample And How It Corporated My Name "Mercy" In It. This Music Video Isn't Officially My First Video But For the LEFTOVERS Edition. James Young aka Youngfilms Did the Video. I Got My Goons In the There And Paying Homage to My Fallen People...Robert Hunt And Brisli Nelson. We Used to All Play At the Half Court Back In the Days...May Y'all Rest In Peace...I Got Y'all...(you can download the LAST SUPPER: LEFTOVERS mixtape below)

The Last Supper: Leftovers...My 1st Mixtape

This Is My Baby Right Here! This Is My First Ever Made Solo Mixtape From 2007 But Was Near A 2 Year Process (sheeesh). Hard Work Pays Off. I Was Too Busy Executive Producing My Fellow Artists Projects. THE LAST SUPPER Project Represented So Many Aspects of Me During That Time frame. I Even Had Songs From High School I Written And Wanted to Put It to Use. I Tried to Capture A Feeling As Well As Musical Inspiration For Me. The Production Was Soulful And Meaningful Altogether. Just Imagine Having Beats by 9th Wonder, Havoc, MF Doom, Alchemist, RJD2 And Madlib. Then Original Beats by GL Beats, Clymax, Geist, Fresh Airez, Sha Reef, JQ, And Even Myself (No Mercy Muzik)! I Managed to Get All the Talented Artists I Wanted to Work With. I Got Christyle, Bishop, Kidd Hazzard, And Some New Faces Swean P, P Dot, Clymax. I Really Kept In the Family. It Was A Crazy Musical Gathering. I Treated the Mixtape Like A Real Album Based On the Songs Content And Keeping It Original Much As Possible. The Concepts of the Songs Was All Metaphors From the Epic Tale of the Last Supper And How I View It. The First Single Was "Super" featuring My Cousin Kidd Hazzard. Then the Follow Up Single Was "No Mercy" And the Final Video Blow With "Shadows of Death" featuring My Young Brother P. Dot Hall Which Definitely Took Me to Another Level! I Had Originally Made It THE LAST SUPPER But I Felt I Had Better Songs to Include. So I Decided to Put On Leftover Songs For the Final Release Which I Renamed It THE LAST SUPPER: LEFTOVERS. My First Video Interview...

This Took Place Around 2006. At the Time, Things Was Just Starting to Pop Off Right After My Sister CHRISTYLE First Music Video "Back Against the Wall". It Brought A lotta Attention to Our Movement of Music. Meanwhile, I Was Informed by My Boy James Young aka YoungFilms That His Friend Wanted to Interview Me. Till This Day...Its Still Mind Boggling. It Was My First Premature VH1 Special...A Young Mercy Behind the Music...
